Family Safety Day

Family Safety Day has been a long standing event in or region, with 2026 being the 27th annual event. It brings together non-profits, businesses and regional services to showcase a wide variety of family safety and awareness topics with fun activities. It is a free event to attend and explore. We are grateful to the event sponsors who allow this free event to exist.
Helmet Trade In
Family Safety Day is often known for the big helmet trade in. Families can bring their helmets that are expired, damaged, in poor condition or outgrown and trade them in for new ones. The helmet trade in is for children 18 and under, we do not trade helmets for adults. The child must be present to be properly fitted for a new helmet. If you do not have a helmet to trade in, new helmets will be available for purchase for $20. Our Helmets and Bike Safety Programming has been sponsored this year by Canadian Natural.
