THE STUPID LINE – Wednesday, March 13th, 2013
FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA – Shell and its joint venture owners, Chevron and Marathon, and The Childhood Injury Prevention Committee of Safe Community Wood Buffalo are delivering an injury prevention program, “The Stupid Line,” to all grade 8 students in the region on March 13th. The Stupid Line is the line of choice or continuum that separates a smart risk from a stupid risk. Each individual has a stupid line. Where that line is drawn is different for each person and changes depending on current conditions, experience and the environment. SMARTRISK No Regrets Live is an hour long presentation that combines fast-paced video clips of young people having fun and taking smart risks. Then the presentation switches gears with a live talk by an injury survivor, Sean Fowler, who speaks candidly about the consequences of poor choices, and how you can be smart and reduce the risk of injury.
